My passion for jewellery making started very early in my parents' workshop. I was born in Austria into a family of goldsmiths. My grandparents and both my parents were jewellers and I finished my traditional training with a Master in Gold and Silver smithing.
I’ve always been interested in style and fashion and fascinated by colours, gemstones and their effects on people so I trained to become a qualified colour consultant. A course in colour analysis focused my attention on how different precious metals and gemstones could light up the wearer and enhance their hair, eyes and skin tone. In 2013 I started my new venture GEM&TONIC with GEM standing for the bespoke jewellery side and TONIC for the colour analysis side of my business. Everything I create is focused on the beauty of the stones and the way they flatter the wearer. Designing jewellery that suits the skin tone is both timeless and sustainable. My jewellery is stylish and understated and I’m trying to blend fashionable with fine jewellery using only precious metals and gemstones. Designs range from playful to simple and elegant, always stylish with a subtle sophisticated edge. Every single piece is designed and made by hand in my little artisan workshop tucked away in Surrey. Attention is given to detail, by using responsibly sourced materials and by embracing natural imperfections of carefully selected gem stones. |
